From the Cottage - Pearl's Ponderings
Autumn - one of my favorite times of the year is finally here. Each year I look forward to the warmth that this season seems to bring. Thoughts of cool Autumn nights and clear skies, cups of hot cocoa, shades of red - bronze - and orange surrounding us on every side, hot soup on the stove & pie in the oven, and of course we can't forget the candles that give their flickering light and scents of clove, vanilla, and orange peel fill the air.
This year has been very full for us so far. It seems like we have finally gotten back into the swing of things after a very long spring & summer of building our new cottage in the woods.
Many of you might remember when we started this journey. We lived in a quaint little Victorian home in the village, we had a very nice yard & garden, but we longed for more space - both for gardening, as well as entertaining.
By a miracle, we found a rare piece of property that we absolutely love! We feel like we have the best of both worlds. Our property is still in the village, so our children are close to their schools, but because the property is mostly wooded, we feel like we are nestled somewhere far away.
We built our cottage nearly 750 back into the 12 acres of woods. Right past our backyard is a beautiful large creek, that we can use for swimming, fishing, rafting, or kayaking. My favorite thing to do is... simply open up a blanket by the edge of the water & read under the shade of the towering mature trees.
I will be sharing many pictures & stories from the cottage at our new blog: A Storybook Life - Be sure to stop by regularly as we have lots to share.
Many of you remember our newsletter as the Heart & Home newsletter, and as you can see, we have not only changed the name of our online magazine to "A Storybook Life", but we've also added lots of new resources for our readers.
The land for sale section was one of the most popular sections of our newsletter, se we decided to make a whole website dedicated to posting our reader's land for sale listings. You can find all of those Land for Sale listings here
We hope you enjoy this issue & please take a moment to share your thoughts with us! We've created this easy form to make sharing your thoughts as easy as pie!
Creatively Yours, Pearl Sanborn
